A Pair Of Mexican Colorful Tonala Burnished Ceramic Chickens Hanging Decoration
This festive-looking pair of hand-painted chickens (one could be a rooster) are just waiting to liven-up your patio decor! Tonala pottery runs deep in Mexican history, going back over some 2,000 years. It has changed over the course of time, particularly with the arrival of the Spanish and with them modern production techniques like the pottery wheel. In modern Mexico, there are several techniques used to produce different effects: our lively pair were made using a technique called "canelo" which uses manganese oxide to give the figures that rich reddish-brown color. Measurements: 5 1/2" tall; 6" long from beak to tail, 3 3/4" at their widest point. Excellent condition: They have a few imperfections (see photos) which only seem to add to their character. From a Smoke Free Environment. Items shown are the exact items you will receive. Ships from Northeast Ohio.
