Vintage Harker Cameo Ware Blue Dainty Flower Scalloped Rectangular Platter Tray
If you are looking for a pristine example of Harker Cameoware, this is not it: this is a piece that was used and loved during a very difficult time in our history and stands as a testament to the quality of the workmanship and the resilience of our people. This is truly a display piece of vintage Americana. It was made in the 1940s by the Harker Pottery Company which was established in a log cabin in East Liverpool, OH in 1840. One of the USAs longest running potteries, it closed in 1972. The pattern, also known as Virginia, was created through a patented intaglio (opposite of relief) printing process: the white glaze was applied into the incised design - you can feel the indentation. Measurements: 12" long, 9" wide, 1" deep Fair Condition: crazing throughout, one tiny rim chip (photo).
