Vintage Round Wood Tole Folk Art Hand Painted Trinket/Jewelry Box Fitted Lid This beautiful handmade little brown box has a personality - it's handle is slightly askew! It's hard to tell if it was a decorative choice (it has a little cream-colored accent on top) or not as the box has painting on only 3/4 of the top on one side! The hardwood box is varnished in a glossy finish on the exterior and is unfinished on the interior. The folk art is imaginative: brightly colored "leaves" with gold scroll accents. The gold accents continue to complete the circle on the lid and appear around the box on each of its three indented layers. The inside has been sanded smooth. The lid and bowl have the number "52" marked in pencil. The lid fits tightly. Dates from the 1950's- 1960's Measurements: 5 1/4" in diameter, 2 1/2" tall with out handle; handle is 1 1/4" tall.
