Stanislav Libenský Spiral Design Large Art Glass Paperweight, Beránek and Skrdlovice Glassworks
Art glass paperweight designed by renowned Czechoslovakian artist Stanislav Libenský (1921-2002). Libenský designed this style, known for its thick cased glass and interior spiral in the mid 1970's for Beránek and Skrdlovice Glassworks in Czechoslovakia. This piece, like his early work, is unsigned. They were originally marked with a foil sticker, but that appears to be long gone from this piece. It is 4" in diameter and weighs a hefty 4 1/2 pounds. Minor surface scratches on bottom and a couple of side scuffs - noted in photos.
