Imperial Glass Large Rose Satin Milk Glass Bowl Vintage Ruffle Scalloped Edge

This stunning bowl is made of milk glass: so named because of its creamy color, opacity (like milk)and the fact that it can be pressed into intricate designs. The mark on the bottom of this incredible bowl places its manufacture after 1951 when the "I" superimposed over the "G" was in use, and before 1972 when a new makers mark was introduced. The bowl is beautiful inside and out: with large embossed roses with stems in the center with smaller embossed roses and other flowers flowing around the outside. Even the outside base has an embossed rose! In fact, I turned the vase upside down to better photograph the intricate embossing. Come to think of it, you could use it this way as a base for a candle or other sculpture. Measurements: 9"in diameter; 3 1/4" tall. Excellent condition: no chips, or cracks.
