Capodimonte porcelain originated in Naples, Italy, in the 18th century, renowned for its intricate sculptural details and delicate floral embellishments. It became a symbol of fine Italian artistry, with pieces often depicting pastoral scenes, mythological figures, and elaborate decorative objects like baskets and figurines. The style is characterized by its high level of detail and often a creamy white glaze, though it can also be painted. Italian porcelain makers, particularly those working in the Capodimonte tradition, continued to produce highly decorative items throughout the 20th century. These pieces often feature elaborate floral arrangements, cherubs, and pastoral scenes, reflecting a continuation of Baroque and Rococo aesthetics.
