• Features a slender, fluted column neck, opening up to a slightly flared rim, resting atop a bulbous body, with a cross hatch & fan design, & wide, round pedestal foot, with an elegant, cut starburst design

Galway Irish Crystal was founded in 1967 by a group of local business people from the Galway Junior Chamber of Commerce to create high-quality, affordable crystal, and boost local employment.

The company began production on Nun’s Island before moving in 1968 to a converted ballroom in Merlin Park, which became their primary factory until 1993.

The founders imported glass blanks from Bavaria and hired master cutters from Waterford Crystal to train local apprentices in traditional cutting techniques.

In 1993, Galway Crystal joined the Belleek Group, which also owns Aynsley China.

The company ceased its glass blowing and cutting manufacturing, transitioning to operate as a shop, heritage centre, craft village, and restaurant in 1996.
