I see other listings that indicate these boxes are made of ceramic, but I believe this box is made of a mix of wood (given the woodgrain look under the paint) and resin. It sounds like resin when you tap on it. Please note what might be a crack - or might not, depending on the material - towards the tip of the base of the heart (pictures 1, 9, 10).
