Vintage Bus Token, St Louis Transit, Plastic

Vintage red plastic transit token from St. Louis County Transit Co. These tokens were used as bus fare in St. Louis and were to be returned to the operator when leaving the bus, as indicated by the text on the token itself: "PROPERTY OF ST. LOUIS COUNTY TRANSIT CO. RETURN TO OPERATOR WHEN LEAVING -BUS-". Similar tokens were used by various transit companies across the United States.
