Fenton Founder's 1909 RN Red Carnival Glass Water Set Pitcher Tumblers (0056-26)
One of Fenton's most celebrated commemorative pieces — a complete Founder's Water Set in brilliant red carnival glass, signed, numbered, and in outstanding condition. In 2004, Fenton Art Glass Company turned 100 years old. To mark the centennial, they reached back to the beginning. Frank L. Fenton had sketched a unique water pitcher design in the 1920s — during carnival glass's golden era — and it had never been put into production. For the anniversary, it finally was. The Founder's Water Set (#1909 RN) was offered in a strictly limited run, with orders closing November 15, 2004. This pitcher is production number #195, handcrafted in Williamstown, West Virginia by skilled American glassworkers. The red carnival treatment is what stops you — Fenton's ruby base glass catches every shift in light and throws it back as violet, cobalt, gold, and electric green. The daisy bloom rises prominently on the pitcher face, framed by oak leaves curling down to three ball feet. The scroll handle is graceful and substantial. The ruffled rim catches the carnival iridescence at every peak. Each of the four matching tumblers mirrors the pitcher's pressed pattern on a footed base, completing a cohesive 5-piece set made to be displayed as much as used. DETAILS: • Maker: Marked and attributed to Fenton Art Glass Company, Williamstown, WV • Marks — Pitcher: Engraved "F.L. Fenton / Founder / 1905"; handwritten production #195; Fenton oval paper label; "RETIRED Handmade in U.S.A." sticker — all intact • Marks — Tumblers: "F.L.F." script + Fenton oval mark molded into base of each tumbler • Set includes: 1 footed pitcher (7.5"H, scroll handle, ruffled rim, 3-ball feet) + 4 footed tumblers (4"H) — complete 5-piece set • Pattern: "Founder's" — large daisy bloom, oak leaf, and fern in raised relief; pressed glass construction • Color/Finish: Ruby red base with full-spectrum iridescent carnival surface (purple, blue, gold, green) • Condition: Outstanding — no chips, cracks, cloudiness, or repairs; all labels and production sticker intact • Production: Strictly limited edition; orders closed 11/15/2004; numbered production run This is a complete, perfect-condition set — signed, numbered, and ready for the center of a serious Fenton or carnival glass collection. IMPORTANT NOTE: At Darling Della Vintage, we believe every scratch and bit of patina tells a story. Our pieces are 30+ years old and have lived full lives, so gentle wear, tiny chips, or age-worn charm are part of their soul — not flaws. We photograph and describe each item carefully, but please expect natural signs of age. Embracing vintage means embracing history — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
