Church Community Vintage Cookbook Our Savior Lutheran Blue Binder, 1988 (0040-26)
Community-compiled 1988 church cookbook from Our Savior Lutheran Church in McAllen, Texas, featuring home-tested recipes in a blue three-ring binder with indexed sections and original congregation contributions. This 40th Anniversary church cookbook was created by Our Savior Lutheran Church in McAllen, Texas and printed in April 1988. Compiled by the congregation, it reflects regional, family-tested recipes shared to celebrate the church’s milestone year. Bound in a durable blue plastic three-ring binder, the cookbook includes clearly tabbed sections for main dishes, desserts, breads, appetizers, and more. Pages are clean and legible, making this both a usable kitchen reference and a meaningful piece of late-20th-century community history. Church and community cookbooks like this were often produced in limited quantities and preserved family recipes rarely published elsewhere, making them collectible snapshots of local food culture. IMPORTANT NOTE: At Darling Della Vintage, we believe every scratch and bit of patina tells a story. Our pieces are 30+ years old and have lived full lives, so gentle wear, tiny chips, or age-worn charm are part of their soul — not flaws. We photograph and describe each item carefully, but please expect natural signs of age. Embracing vintage means embracing history — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
