Brown Ribbed Stoneware Batter Pitcher | Bauer Ringware 1940s Farmhouse (0054-26)
This tobacco-brown stoneware pitcher carries the quiet confidence of an American kitchen that knew how to work. Probable Bauer Ringware — unmarked, attributed based on the distinctive horizontal ribbing, angular pour spout, squared handle, and olive-brown glaze consistent with early 1940s American production. The form is a classic batter pitcher: deep, wide-mouthed, and built for pouring. Whether you fill it with wildflowers, wooden spoons, or Sunday morning pancake batter, it earns its place on any surface it touches. The tobacco and olive glaze pools beautifully in the ridges, deepening to near-black in the grooves and warming to amber in the light. Thick-walled, substantial in hand, and unmistakably American in character. • What it is: Stoneware batter pitcher, probable Bauer Ringware • Dimensions: 5.25" H × 6.5" W (spout to handle) × 4.5" diameter • Capacity: 24 oz (3 cups) • Glaze: High-gloss olive/tobacco brown; characteristic dark pooling in ribbed grooves • Condition: Good — one small shallow glaze chip at spout rim (see photo); minor glaze bubbles on body; no cracks, no repairs • Markings: Unmarked; attribution based on Ringware form and glaze character • Care: Hand wash only; not confirmed food-safe given age and unknown glaze composition Some things just feel like they were always meant to find their way home. IMPORTANT NOTE: At Darling Della Vintage, we believe every scratch and bit of patina tells a story. Our pieces are 30+ years old and have lived full lives, so gentle wear, tiny chips, or age-worn charm are part of their soul — not flaws. We photograph and describe each item carefully, but please expect natural signs of age. Embracing vintage means embracing history — and we wouldn't have it any other way.
