🐞Antique Chinese Cloisonné Lidded Ginger Jar 11.25" Turquoise Floral Urn Qing / Republic
Natural age oxidation and a dark patina are present on the raw brass wire recesses, the rims, and the inside of the lid flange.
Fine Chinese cloisonné pieces—especially from the late Qing and Republic eras—are intentionally stoned down to a flat finish. visually and texturally, it is meant to mimic a continuous, glossy gemstone surface
visible pitting, tiny gas escape pinpricks, and distinct darkening inside the brass wire channels are definitive evidence of a hand-fired kiln process.
