#3721 Chintz Japanese porcelain teacup and saucer with a floral pattern.

6” saucer, no chips or cracks. Japanese porcelain production saw a significant increase in export following World War II. Items marked "Japan" or "Occupied Japan" were produced during this period, typically from 1945 to 1952. These pieces often featured floral patterns and were made for the Western market, aiming to compete with European ceramics. While not as historically renowned as some earlier Japanese porcelain periods, these post-war items are still collected for their decorative appeal and as a representation of a specific era in Japanese manufacturing and international trade. The floral motifs, like the sweet pea pattern seen, were common and reflected popular tastes of the time.
