No chips or cracks Age related crazing may be present Lord Nelson Ware was produced by the Staffordshire pottery firm of Elijah Cotton Ltd., which operated from the late 19th century until the company's closure in 1981. The brand became particularly known for its decorative earthenware, often featuring floral patterns and transferware designs that were popular throughout the early to mid-20th century. Many of their pieces were exported internationally, making them recognizable collectibles today. This particular 'Royal Brocade' pattern, with its distinctive burgundy ground and chintz floral motif, is characteristic of the Art Deco period. Such tea ware was commonly produced for domestic use and as affordable luxury items, reflecting the era's aesthetic sensibilities. The use of gold trim further enhanced their appeal, making them suitable for both everyday enjoyment and speial occasions.
