Vtg. Gonder Original Pottery Covered Crock/Bowl w/Lid, Red w/White Sponge, #953

This is a vintage Gonder Original Pottery covered crock/bowl with lid in a berry red glaze with white foam sponge highlights. Gonder Pottery was in operation from 1941-1957. Given its pristine condition, I estimate this piece is from the 1950s. Made in Zanesville, Ohio, this square-shaped dish was handmade and features an incised backstamp. The matching lid has a meaningfully-sized knob for gripping and lifting. The handle fits nicely in the hand.

The crock and lid are in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks or signs of wear.
