Vintage Whitefriars/Caithness Faceted Millefiori Butterfly Glass Paperweight
Beautiful Vintage Whitefriars/Caithness Millefiori Butterfly design faceted paperweight. It features rose pink and white millefiori canes on a deep cobalt blue base. The piece has beveled facets on the sides and top, which magnify the intricate interior design. The item contains a signature or date cane within the pattern, visible from the bottom, which specifies that it was made in 1986. It is made from heavy lead crystal. Whitefriars Glass ceased production in 1980, and Caithness Glass then acquired the rights to produce items under the Whitefriars name. Piece is in very good condition with one very small surface scratch noted (see last photo) Measures approximately 2.5” in diameter by 2” tall.
