Vintage Reverse Applied Silhouette Wall Picture Thermometer, Advertising, Salesmen Sample, Civil War Theme
This is a Vintage, 1940s, Reverse-Applied #Silhouette Wall #Picture With Thermometer, meant for business advertising. This one was a #SalesmenSample! At the bottom it shows: 'Your advertisement neatly printed in this space.' This specific version of the design was called, 'What Shall The Answer Be?' No. J-55. It depicts a #CivilWar Era #woman at a desk, writing a letter back to her beau, who is obviously the #Soldier depicted in the picture on her wall, apparently, to answer his #proposal of #marriage. It measures 5.0" long x 4.0" Wide and .50" Thick. The front is in GREAT CONDITION. The glass is intact and the #thermometer is intact and working still! The back has a small amount of damage where it use to hang on a wall. It would have also had a small calendar, that attached on the back and hung at the bottom of the frame. Most are usually missing as they were 'tear off' pages. Please see all pics, as they are part of the description.
