Vintage Pewter Jug/Pitcher Double Acorn with Hinged Lid

Rare Find! Pewter jugs like this were common in Europe, particularly in Germany and surrounding regions, from the 17th through the 19th centuries. They were used for serving beer, wine, and other beverages. Acorn designs were a popular motif in the late 19th century. This mug/pitcher so in great condition. It has a light red marking in one side. Not sure why it is there. Weight 2 lbs. 9" height, 13" in the wides part of jug, and top is approximately 4"wide.
