Vintage Meri Saarnio Finnish Studio Art Pottery Wall Relief Vanha Porvoo
This is a beautiful studio art pottery wall relief by renowned Finnish ceramicist Meri Saarnio. This hand-sculpted red earthenware plaque captures the iconic, interconnected traditional wooden townhouses of historic Old Porvoo, Finland. It features a wonderful contrast between the matte terracotta-colored facade and glossy glaze accents on the windows. The back is fully incised with regional markings Vanha Porvoo Gamla Borgå Suomi Finland Meri Saarnio. Dated 1999. Artist: Meri Saarnio (Student of Kyllikki Salmenhaara. Origin: Porvoo, Finland Material: Studio Earthenware Clay & Slip Glaze. In good condition. Does not have any chips or cracks. Measures 7 inches long and 4 inches tall.
