Up for sale is a beautiful vintage Tonalá Mexican folk art pottery bird figurine, measuring approximately 4 inches in length. This collectible piece features the highly desirable "W" signature monogram painted directly onto the side, identifying it as an authentic product of the legendary studio of Jorge Wilmot (1928–2012). Wilmot is universally celebrated as a master of mid-century Mexican studio ceramics, famous for introducing high-fire stoneware techniques to the region of Jalisco. The bird features a lovely textured, speckled clay body adorned with hand-painted floral and geometric motifs in traditional blue, green, and earthy red-brown tones. The bottom of the piece also bears a bold, stylized "MEXICO" export ink stamp, dating its production to the mid-to-late 20th century.
