Vintage 4.25” Dhokra Bastar Art Brass Lady Bell - Indian Folk Art Figure

For sale is a beautiful vintage tribal folk art hand bell, measuring approximately 4.25 inches tall. This piece is handcrafted using the ancient Dhokra lost-wax casting technique by the indigenous tribal artisans of the Bastar region in Central India.

The handle features a highly stylized, elegant female figure dressed in traditional attire with a beautifully patterned hairstyle. Because each piece is created from a unique one-time clay mold, this bell is entirely one-of-a-kind. It features excellent fine-ribbed casting details and retains its original internal iron loop and swinging clapper.

Condition:

Excellent vintage condition with a gorgeous, undisturbed golden-brown patina. The interior iron clapper shows natural oxidation/rust consistent with its age, which validates its vintage origin. No cracks, chips, or repairs.
