Vintage Ditmar Urbach Art Deco "Alienware" Large Urn Vase #8137
GREAT COND! Minty Estate Find in long-buried bottom of the pile, box in a hidden basement closet!! Includes 'provenance note' that was still inside. lol This unique vase from the Art Deco period. Circa 1920-1930, is often referred to as "Alienware" because of the often bizarre color combinations, shapes and glazes. The piece has a panel of black embossed rose blossoms on the front with the branches and leaves within the arches handles. The remainder of the vase is decorated with a mottled orange luster glaze. The piece measures 7.25" in height and 7.5" across. The bottom has an embossed pattern number "8137" and is stamped "Czechoslovakia". Crafted during the height of the Art Deco period, this Ditmar Urbach Alienware vase is a remarkable piece of stoneware that showcases a vibrant orange and black palette. The vase stands at an impressive 7.5 inches tall and measures 8 inches in width, making it a bold and striking addition to any collection. The vase is an original piece from the esteemed Dittmar-Urbach Porcelain Factory in Czechoslovakia, dating back to the 1920s. Its abstract art theme is reflective of the era’s fascination with alien and otherworldly motifs, and the vase bears the model number 8137. An incised backstamp attests to its authenticity. This decorative item is a testament to the production style and technique of Art Pottery from the early 20th century.
