A wonderful piece of old-school kitchenware, this vintage aluminum cone strainer comes with its matching wooden pestle. Traditionally used for making applesauce, tomato sauce, soups, jams, baby food, and other smooth purées, the fine perforations allow pulp to pass through while holding back skins, seeds, and fibers.

The wide top bowl makes it easy to add cooked fruits or vegetables, while the long cone shape directs the finished purée into a bowl or pot below. The attached wire handle allows the strainer to rest over a container during use.
