Vintage 1950s Hubert Bequet Belgium Majorca Ewer/Pitcher Delft Jema Holland 13"
Here is a magnificent vintage mid-century hand-painted ceramic art pottery master centerpiece ewer / pedestal handled vase. Meticulously handcrafted by the celebrated Hubert Bequet & Cie S.C. studios in Quaregnon, Belgium, exclusively for Jema Holland, circa 1950s. Showcasing a spectacular European majolica or classical amphora aesthetic, this heavy earthenware piece features an elegant bulbous body on a flared pedestal foot, topped by an exaggerated upcurved crescent rim and a massive, integrated overhead center handle loop.
The exterior is exquisitely hand-decorated in a rich polychrome palette, showcasing vibrant symmetry panels of golden-yellow scroll cartouches, deep cobalt blue geometric frames, and trailing wildflower vines over a creamy ivory ground.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The heavy earthenware ceramic body remains structurally flawless, solid, and substantial with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The high-gloss glaze is beautifully reflective and preserves an authentic, uniform age-appropriate fine glaze crazing web throughout, adding a marvelous vintage character to the porcelain skin.
Measurements: Large master statement scale, stands approximately 13" tall x 6" wide.
Markings: The underside preserves the complete, authentic underglaze black stamped crown insignia reading: "DELFT'S HANDMADE FOR JEMA - HOLLAND BY H. BEQUET & CIE S.C. - QUAREGNON - BELGIUM."
