French Limoges porcelain trinket box by Rochard. It features a stunning Chinese Guardian Lion (Foo Dog). This piece is entirely hand-painted in France ("Peint Main") and blends luxury French artistry with Eastern symbolism.Design & Details. Design: Rochard Limoges France Motif Seated Chinese Guardian Lion / Foo Dog. Vibrant multi-colored design with shades of orange, green, blue, and heavy 24K gold leaf accents. Clasp: Custom figural brass clasp shaped like a person wearing an Asian conical hat. Condition: No chips, cracks, there is a tiny, smooth factory-painted-over pop on the ear tip from production. It is completely covered in the original gold paint. See last three pictures for different views. Paint: The glaze is bright and glossy. The gold leaf detailing is incredibly strong with no noticeable rubbing or wear. Hinge & Hardware: The metal monture fits perfectly flush. The hinge operates smoothly, and the custom clasp snaps shut tightly. Measurements are approximate, please see pictures for condition and measurements as they are part of the description.
