Terracotta "Hen on a Nest" clay baker and tureen, commonly manufactured in Japan during the late 20th century. Molded from unglazed earthenware, these figural pieces double as rustic kitchen countertop décor and functional bakeware. Features a glazed interior base and an intricately detailed lid shaped like a roosting hen, nesting on a base detailed with a criss-cross woven basket texture.The terra cotta shows some darkened usage areas.
