Hello! I’m so excited to be part of this network! My name is Ruth Guajardo and I live in San Antonio, Texas. I am not new at selling, my husband and partner, have owned a gift shop and gallery since 2001 called El Sol Studios. We are both Artists and makers, and of course collectors. We have However downsized and partnered with my BFF who also owned a shop as long as me and went in together instead and opened a space that holds both stores (Pulquerios/El Sol Studios. We have always had an insatiable interest in Vintage and unique finds, but our focus had been in Mexican Folk art, handmade and cultural gifts, jewelry and more, until recently. This listing is for one Tenmoku glaze kiln transformation master cup. It is beautifully handcrafted piece from China, featuring intricate hand-overlaid goldtone metal dragon design and a unique gorgeous kiln-transformed glaze. The reactive, color-changing finish is known as a Tenmoku or Jianzhan glaze was originally developed in the Fujian province of China during the Song Dynasty, and still being used by modern artisan workshops.
This traditional Chinese tea cup embodies the beauty and craftsmanship of Asian cultures, making it a valuable collectible for tea enthusiasts and collectors alike. Its provenance may not be known, but its craftsmanship and cultural significance speak for themselves.
