Meet Your Seller
Hi everyone! My name is Liz, and I started watching CLL (and other reseller) videos during the pandemic, and became hooked! I started in 2022 with a few online auctions and graduated to thrift stores, and listed a few things for resale to test the waters. In late summer 2023 I decided to start ramping up and working the biz every day, and started a YouTube channel in late 2023! Just mostly having fun right now and soaking in everyone's knowledge, and learning a TON! By day I work in marketing communications for a small supplement company. For fun I do nature photography and a variety of crafts (when time allows). I love being outdoors in nature, and I apparently also love the treasure hunt aspect of visiting thrift stores! I've found some really cool things so far, and I can't wait to share some of them here with you all! :-) If you are new to District, you can use my code, "LIZAR8" for $5 off your first Buy It Now OR Auction purchase of $10 or more, anywhere on Niknax! Thanks for stopping by!

08 - Sydenstricker Fused Glass Plate 9.75” Sweet Pea Pattern
Bill Sydenstricker is now a legend. In the 1960s at MIT he studied an ancient Egyptian method of enameling and found a way to stencil colored powders onto glass and fuse it with another clear glass round. He used commercial glass molds available at the time. His studio opened in 1968 and continues on even after his death in 1994. Other fused glass artists built on the foundation Bill built. This piece is marked Sydenstricker 5000, and is in great condition. It does have some minor surface scratches that can be seen if you tilt the piece in front of a light box. Measures 9.75” (called a 10” plate but they shrink in the kiln and as they slump into the mold). Height is 7/8” .
