• Hand thrown, formed, crafted

• Bulbous body, flared top, "tripod" footed

•"Barro Negro", black, shiny finish pottery

   - Produced using open kiln, fire reduction process & polishing with quartz stone just before dry

• Incised signature on base:

   - "DOÑA ROSA, SB, COYOTEPEC, OAX, MEX"

• Doña Rosa, ceramic artisan (1900 - 1980)

   - San Bartolo Coyotepec, Oaxaca, Mexico

   - Pottery production continues today in small, family workshops
