History and Characteristics Maker: Founded by Edward Swoboda in Los Angeles, California during the mid-20th century, Swoboda Inc. was widely celebrated for its costume jewelry and signature miniature gemstone trees. Materials: The tree trunk and matching decorative basket base are meticulously cast in heavy base metal and thickly hand-plated in high-quality gold. The Gemstones: Swoboda trees feature hand-set, genuine semi-precious polished gemstones. This multi-gem variant utilizes a mixture of tumbled stones, including amethyst (purple), carnelian (orange), and aventurine or jade (greenish tones).
