This vintage Mexican clay turtle whistle is hand‑formed in the traditional folk‑art style, with a whitewashed red‑clay body that shows the natural earthenware beneath in a softly distressed, time‑worn way. The shell carries blue and green hand‑applied accents, adding a touch of playful color while keeping the rustic, artisan feel. The side is impressed MEXICO, consistent with mid‑century artisan and tourist pottery from central and southern Mexico. It functions as a simple folk‑art whistle/ocarina, producing the soft, rustic sound typical of handmade clay instruments.
