Historic 1865 “First Class Preference Scrip” certificate issued by the Marietta & Cincinnati Rail Road Company (Chillicothe, Ohio), dated July 16, 1865, for a fractional share amount. Features a 10¢ U.S. revenue stamp, hand-cancelled signatures in blue ink (“Cancelled April 2 1866”), printed by Robert Clarke & Co., Cincinnati. A rare Civil War-era corporate scrip collectible for railroad and scripophily enthusiasts. Some wear along the edges. No rips or tears noted. See pictures for further details on condition.
