Occupied Japan Marutomoware Fruit Jam Jar | Vintage
Add a touch of vintage charm to your kitchen collection with this adorable Marutomoware jam and jelly jar. Made in Occupied Japan between 1945 and 1952, this hand-painted ceramic piece features a highly detailed, glossy brown basket-weave base topped with a vibrant, multicolored lid overflowing with molded Majolica-style fruits. The lid is designed with a practical, molded branch handle and includes a small cutout notch specifically meant for a condiment spoon. Measuring approximately 4.5 inches tall from the base to the top of the handle, 3.5 inches wide at the rim opening, and 3 inches wide at the footed base, it is an ideal size for shelf display or repurposing as a whimsical trinket holder. Please note that this piece exhibits heavy vintage crazing throughout, which is especially prominent and visible on the interior glaze. Because heavy crazing can absorb moisture and harbor bacteria, this jar is being sold strictly as a decorative, display-only collectible and should not be used for serving food.
