From the time I would tag along with my mom to numerous garage sales, I’ve loved the hunt for previously loved treasures. My love of finding these treasures has escalated to a lifelong passion. My interests range from antique furniture, mid-century modern everything as well as early 1900s art deco style. Handwoven Coiled Basket, 5 1/2" x 2", Geometric Design, Excellent condition
The basket is made using a coiling technique, a common method in the Native American basketry. I am unsure of its origin. The dark stepped patterns woven into the orange/brown background are characteristic geometric designs found in many Native American baskets. Measures 5 1/2" x 2" and has a rich gold color with blue geometric design and edge color. Very tightly woven with a firm bottom and side.
