Circa 1980 Piet Snel Watercolor of Old Couple From Local Nevada Collection SIGNED Matted Unframed

The Charlie B Gallery of Carson City, Nevada just found this watercolor in a local Nevada collection. The signature at the lower right is PietSnel in a very distinctive manner and similar to Dutch artist Pieter Snel (1911-1991). The couple in the image appear to have wood shoes or clogs and there are details of this original watercolor that make me believe this is a Dutch couple. The opening of the matt is 7.75" by 5.75" where as the matt dimensions are 11.875 by 9.375. There are some marks to the matt. This was never framed and appears to have been marketed as you see it. The image has strong pigments and the piece is every bit of charming in composition. One small, minor dark mark to the subject which appears to be original to the subject. This could be a real sleeper for the astute collector. I will run this as an auction going to the highest bidder. Start price will be $19.99. Good luck!!
