Marked “Berze Bobbele Blaue Narre”. “Bobbele” is a doll/puppet “Blaue” is blue “Narre” is fool Comes from city of Freiburg near the Black Forest in Germany. This “Blue Fool” is part of German Fasnacht (carnival) Folklore and one of the many guilds. It harkens back approx century ago to original festival costume being a blue fool jester with red/white neck placard which are the colors of Freiburg. Eventually, the costume became red & white but retains the “Blaue Narre” (Blue Fool) name. Hand painted Resin Cast. String for Hanging Figurine. Beautiful condition.
