This is a genuine antique, produced in the early 1900s. Often called a "lobster dish" it is because of the decoration, not what you serve in it. Although the gilding is worn quite a bit, I think I like it better this way. It is from German maker Joseph Schachtel. Features a detailed hand-painted lobster design on a glossy finish.
