Antique Chinese Silk Embroidery Serving Tray Qing Dynasty Butterfly Floral READ
Antique Chinese Silk Embroidery Serving Tray (c. 1890–1920) Measures 13” x 9” • Hand-embroidered silk textile preserved under glass within a wooden frame and metal handles. • The design displays a "thousand flower" pattern accented by multiple hand-stitched butterflies, traditional symbols of longevity and joy. • Based on the style of the silk embroidery, the butterfly motifs, and the aged wood backing, the most accurate window is 1890–1920 (Late Qing Dynasty to Early Republic period) Per Gemini AI. NOTE: The silk background shows extensive age-related toning and "tea-staining," particularly along the edges and corners. The felt backing has been removed. The wood back shows a lot of glue residue and frame has some paint transfer and “residue” around the handles and edges along the glass. I have a feeling the previous owner MAY have attempted to refinish this tray and gave up half way through. This action may have contributed to the staining on the silk. This is just my opinion, I do NOT know if it is factually correct. PLEASE REVIEW THE PICTURES CAREFULLY!! This is a Pre-Owned Item. Please see the pictures as they are part of the description. What you see is what you will actually receive. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or if you’d like additional pictures. #1293
