Antique Burmese Bronze/Brass Alloy Opium Weight 20 Tical Hintha Bird 19th C 289.77g 2.5” T x 1.5” L x 1.5” W
Authentic, beautifully aged 19th-century Burmese bronze standard scale weight (traditionally known as an "opium weight") shaped like a mythical Hintha bird (Hamsa/Brahmani duck). This hefty, larger-sized weight is a fantastic piece of Southeast Asian history and would make an excellent addition to any collection of tribal art, scales, or Asian antiquities. Cast Bronze / Brass Alloy estimated age 19th Century (Late Konbaung Dynasty / Golden Triangle region)
Condition: It displays an exceptional, rich dark-mottled patina with authentic, soft smoothing on the high points (beak, crest, and tail) from decades of handling. The underside of the multi-sided base features excellent indicators of old lost-wax casting, including irregular surface pitting, and natural edge wear.
Measurements are approximate, please see pictures for condition and measurements as they are a part of the description. S2-5C (B)
