Antique Art Glass Paperweight Confetti/ Mardi Gras Frit Flower Controled Bubbles.
Antique Art Glass Paperweight Confetti/ Mardi Gras Frit Flower Controled Bubbles. This is 3.75 inches in diameter and is 2.5 inches tall This has a pressed in pontil with a rough edge. The clear glass is not perfectly clear it has a bluish green tint to it. These are all hallmarks of an antique paperweight made in USA. Probably Sydenham or Milleville Glass Im leaning towards Syndenham cause the few letter I can make out match their name better. Mardi Gras Frit upper layer to flower and White frit lower layer with 5 distinct elongated controlled bubbles. This is a preowned antique. There is an artist hand signed signature but the bottom arouynd the pontil has surface wear that blurs it. I can make out a couple letters only even with a jewelers loop. There is an old bruise or burst bubble inside see photo #12 inside the glass that does not come through to the surface and there is a slight rough area where the glass isn't perfectly smooth see photo 11 . Both spots are on the same side and can easily be hidden by placing them to the back when item is on display. These slightly crude craftsmanship is common in paperweights of this age made in the USA. VG condition. Ships USPS
