Antique 1888 Buckeye Glass Reverse Swirl Vaseline Opalescent Rose Bowl Uranium 4.5” T x 4.5” W
Stunning, authentic piece of 19th-century Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG): an opalescent "Reverse Swirl" rose bowl produced by the Buckeye Glass Company (Martins Ferry, Ohio), introduced in their No. 528 line circa 1888.This beautiful heirloom is crafted from a vibrant canary-yellow/topaz vaseline glass that features a striking, fiery opalescent white swirl pattern. Thanks to the uranium content in the glass formulation, it fluoresces a brilliant, intense neon green under a UV/blacklight.The bowl is completely hand-blown and showcases high-end Victorian craftsmanship. It features a finely crimped/ruffled rim, a distinctively textured, pitted "bumpy" on the bottom.
Condition: Two thin lines, tiny specs around the ruffle, and on the base. This is internal carbon/ash spots trapped inside the glass matrix. These are completely original factory inclusions from the 1880s coal-fired furnaces, confirming its hand-blown, antique authenticity and adding historical character. One spot of excess glass on the sides. See last three pictures
Please review all photos carefully for inclusions and measurements as they form part of the description. S1-75B
