6” Small rough spot under spot Otherwise good condition for age

W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik made decorative porcelain and earthenware items in Rödental, Germany, starting in the late nineteenth century. They created many whimsical animal figurines and kitchenware pieces designed to add charm to domestic spaces during the mid-twentieth century. Their ceramic artists used detailed mold work and hand-painting to give character to functional table items like this one.

People used these creamers on dining tables and tea trays to serve cream or milk for hot drinks. They were filled from the open top and poured through the raised trunk, bringing a playful touch to everyday meals. Eventually, changes in dining habits and a move away from formal tableware led to the decline of such novelty creamers in daily home use.
