#4207 Antique Rococo French porcelain flask with floral and gilt decoration.
6.5”x3” No chips or cracks. Vieux Paris porcelain, also known as 'Old Paris' porcelain, refers to a style of decorative porcelain produced in France, primarily in Paris, from the late 18th century through the 19th century. It is characterized by its fine quality, elaborate gilding, and hand-painted decorations, often featuring floral motifs, pastoral scenes, or portraits. This style was highly sought after by the French aristocracy and later by the burgeoning middle class, adorning homes with elegant tableware, vases, and decorative objects. This particular flask, with its octagonal form and detailed floral and gilt ornamentation, is representative of the decorative arts of the period. Such pieces were often used for perfumes, liqueurs, or as decorative elements on vanity tables or display cabinets. The combination of the rich cobalt blue, delicate pink roses, and intricate gold scrollwork exemplifies the Rococo and Neoclassical influences prevalent in French decorative arts during the 19th century.
