Talavera pottery is a Mexican and Spanish pottery tradition. The Mexican pottery is known as Talavera Poblana, due to the extensive use of it in Puebla, Mexico. The style is a type of majolica pottery, which is distinguished by a milky-white glaze. Talavera Poblana is highly decorated with colors such as blue, yellow, black, green, orange and mauve. Authentic Talavera pottery only comes from the designated area and workshops have to be certified. The plate appears to be a decorative piece, showcasing the vibrant colors and patterns typical of Talavera Poblana.
