#2703 Commemorative Plate of Royal Visit King George VI Queen Elizabeth to Canada USA

Made in 1939 to commemorate the visit to the USA and Canada of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth of England, the parents of the late Queen Elizabeth II, grandparents of King Charles III, and great grandparents of Princes William and Henry. They are pictured together, with crown and flags in centre portrait. The plate is made by Sovereign of Canada, with the archaic "British Empire Made" printed on base beneath the company logo of two rampant lions and a crown. Border is rich embossed design of the English Rose. Gold embellishments in good condition. The insignia To Commemorate the visit of their majesties King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Canada and the United States of America May 1939. The souvenir is 83 years old and in great condition with some crazing and minor surface scratching to be expected.
