#2106 Large Pitcher Jug by Shorter England Staffordshire Pottery Handpainted Fruit 30's

Ceramic Pitcher/Jug of useful size. Made by Shorter of Staffordshire and hand painted with some fruit decor. Nice textured basketweave pattern. 6.5 inch tall, without chips or cracks. Nice wide spout to us to pour custard or lemonade etc. Use it as a large gravy server when you are entertaining a crowd. Shorter & Son was a ceramics manufacturer based in Stoke-on-Trent, England. The company was founded in 1874 by Thomas Shorter and his son, Guy Shorter. The company initially produced a range of utilitarian ceramics, but soon began to produce more decorative pieces.
