Meet Your Seller
I'm a retired teacher trying to clean out my house of all the stuff accumulated from four generations of my family. My goal in life is to not leave a mess for my family to clean up after I die! I've sold on other platforms for a few years now, but after watching Joselyn's videos I decided to try NikNax. I love to see thrifting videos since I've always shopped at thrift stores, passing on that love to my daughter. I also love to see what others have to sell and have been known to buy some things that I just can't pass up, of course adding to more "stuff." All of my items come from a smoke-free home. We have one cat that I try to keep away from things that I'm selling, especially clothing or other items that could collect cat dander.

1906 - At Bay - Mrs Alexander - Colorful Cover!
I found this book stored in a trunk in my father's house (pet and smoke free) after he died in 2002. I've had it stored away since then.
Based on the inscription inside the cover, this book belonged to my step-grandfather's first wife before they were married. The inscription reads: Presented to Eva Hooper by her Sunday School teacher, D.F.Sprague, Dec. 25, 1906. There is no publication inside the book, so I used 1906, but it could have been published prior.
I'm not a book expert so I don't know how to properly describe condition so please feel free to correct me or ask questions. The cover is a beautiful slightly embossed drawing of flowers with a glued on picture of a woman that looks Victorian. The flowers on the front may have been painted with something white, because the similar flower on the spine is a bluish color.
The pages in this book are very thick, almost a construction paper consistency, and yellowed from age. There are some smudging and at least one spot on a couple pages near the front. The pages are sewn in sections to the binding and some are starting to pull apart from the binding but none are falling out. The front cover is starting to pull away at the top for about an inch down the spine (see picture). The cover has some shelf wear.
The story is set in 19th Century Paris and based on what I've found online it appears to be a love story. I'm sure you can find more information about the book by doing an online search.
