Bumps, bruising, fading to cover. Binding is wobbly/ loose and spine is split. Pages have discoloration and there are a couple tears. Book is complete An interesting glimpse of New York at the turn of the 20th century by noted journalist, author, dramatist, and Pulitzer Prize for Drama winner, Jesse Lynch Williams (1871-1929). The author takes the reader around New York City through The Waterfront, The Walk Up-Town, The Cross Streets, and Rural New York City. Eighty three half-tone illustrations are listed after the Contents, but no artist credits are given. Some of the signed illustrations are from noted artists, including: Jules Guerin (1866-1910), William Robinson Leigh (1866-1955), Henry McCarter (b. 1864), Ernest Peixotto (1869-1940), and Everett Shinn (1876-1953). Illustrated reproductions of photographs taken in and around New York City show the local sights.
