1870 La Mode Illustrée French Fashion Print Reverse Painted Glass 17”x 13.5” - 1870 hand-colored fashion plate from the Parisian journal, La Mode Illustrée (Bureaux du Journal, 56 r. Jacob, Paris 1870) - Héloïse Leloir : fashion illustrator (Signed in plate, lower left) - The blue and gold "matting" is actually reverse-painted directly onto the glass in a classic black wood frame. Condition: -The print is in good antique condition with a natural aged patina and light foxing/toning that confirms its 150-year-old history. -The frame shows some vintage wear (scuffs/nicks) The frame back shows age and stain spotting with most of the paper backing missing and the mounting nails are showing rust. -The reverse-painted glass is intact and vibrant with a few Imperfections.
